Another 1950s vintage dress

I am pleased with the amount of wear I have been getting out of my 1950s vintage dress collection this summer. This is one I picked up in Liverpool around four years ago. The print is so pretty, its a floral folk print which reminds me of our our holiday in Switzerland a few years back. The shape is quite simple and it's made from cotton so perfect for a warm summers day!

Today we are relaxing after a fun filled bank holiday weekend full of partying with friends. I will post some photos later on this week. How has your weekend been?

We have added a some more vintage dresses to the Attic People Vintage with lots more to follow soon and a new A/W Collection on its way.

Inherited vintage clothes

Vintage 50s printed bolero jacket

A few posts back we mentioned I had been given some beautiful vintage clothes from the 50s and 60s from Ross's Nanna whilst we were visiting family in Birmingham for the weekend. So here are a few of them I wanted to share... The 1950's bolero above and printed 50s cotton the dress below are so pretty. Ross's nanna is hoping to find me the dress to match the bolero on our next visit! Im already thinking about how I can incorporate the fabulous 40s sailor blouse into my winter wardrobe :)

Would love to hear any of your stories relating to inherited vintage clothing or anything vintage?

We are in the middle of filling The Attic People Vintage with lots of new vintage gems so be sure to check out the shop over the next couple of week's.

On Saturday we paid another visit to The Natural History Museum as we did on Ross's birthday. Both times we have been far too relaxed about getting there and ended up only having a couple of hours to look around. Last time we covered the Dinosaur section and this time we managed to cover the Evolution floors!

The vintage bolero top I'm wearing has been sitting in my wardrobe for far too long without being worn so I thought I would go for an eclectic look and mix it with a clashing printed vintage playsuit. I love experimenting with layering colours and prints, being a little spontaneous with your clothes is very refreshing.

Any weekend adventures yourself?

I thought sharing these 6os/70s vintage style clothes from Flammeum would be a great start to my blogging week! I stumbled across this interesting Japanese brand through honeykennedy (a great blog you should check out too). I love everything about these clothes and images.

Me and Ross are now off to our friends for some greek food...ummm. Have a nice evening all!

We took these photos last weekend whilst visiting Ross's Nanna, Aunt and Uncle in Birmingham just before all these horrible riots kicked off around the country. This is a bit of a late weekend outfit post but at least anther weekend is almost here!

The weekend was lovely, we spent Saturday relaxing, looking through old family photographs and eating dinner at The Queens pub in the beautiful English countryside. On Sunday Ross's nanna surprised me with a bundle of amazing vintage dress's from the 50's and 60's for me to take home... I couldn't have been more happier to accept these stunning dresses which I will share with you soon. We also went for a walk in the Clent hills and ended sunday with another full tummy from a home cooked roast dinner. There are lots of inspiring old houses in Birmingham, check out the ones above.

Its been a strange and worrying week with all the pointless riots which were so close to us, things seem a lot calmer now and I'm hoping it stays this way for all of the UK.

Any interesting plans for this weekend?

What with all the awful pointless riots breaking out across London our blog has not been our main priority. For now I just wanted to share these pretty photographs by Lukasz Wierzbowski which I came across through the lovely Daydream Lily blog. She takes such pretty creative photographs... I especially like the ones with flowers and net curtains.

Lets hope things improve here in London, Its such a sad site to see.

A new vintage dress!

These photos were taken around London's East End broadway market over the weekend. The weather was glorious so I pinched this beautiful vintage embroidery dress from our brand new stock for The Attic People Vintage which we sourced last week. It couldn't have been more perfect for such a hot day!

I feel we have neglected the shop a little lately as we have had so much going on with moving, settling in and freelance design work. But, that's ok though as were back on track and have tonnes of stunning vintage dresses to fill the shop and we're planning changes and exciting new lines for our website for A/W 2011. If there are any items you would like to see in out store feel free to let us know :)

Sweetest vintage note pads...

The Attic People Vintage” title=

Excuse our lack of posts lately. Last week was spent traveling up and down the country visiting family and sourcing new vintage clothes for The Attic People vintage. I had a wonderful time seeing everyone but It is nice to be back home again.

I will be sure to spend some time over the next few days catching up on your inspiring blogs. I am busy designing prints this week so I will try my best to squeeze some delayed outfit posts from the weekend tomorrow!

As for now how sweet are these notepads? I discovered Miss Book Maker on Etsy a while ago and have meaning to share these pretty note pads which are hand made using vintage children's books, vintage fabrics and some nifty stitching. I use to love making books, folders and stickers when I was a young girl...what did like to make?
